Merci was a small child; only about 5'4". Of course, there were people shorter than her, but none as wilted inside. She was generally known to be a happy person -bubbly, even- but today she felt like her world was being ripped apart at the seams, like an over-stuffed pillow. She had just come to CGA -she was supposedly the first student since the 90's- and she hated it. Her adoptive father had abandoned her. Well, maybe not, but that's how it felt. The only familiar face was Blue, her Russian blue cat. But even Blue was acting strangely.
Merci had called her friend, Renae, from the rental car, but all the other girl had in way of advice was "don't let the bedbugs bite". But then again, what had she been expecting? Renae had lived in the same place her whole life. She didn't know what it was like to move. Lucky. Anyway, Merci knew she had to deal with the present. Right now she had to find her room. Number... 536? If only she could find someone to help her! Merci needed a break, after all.
Today Merci was wearing a blue, green, and white striped tee with a collar and a plain black shirt underneath. She also wore a simple denim mini-skirt with one front pocket. Today her earrings featured Peridot green, her birthstone. As a matter of fact, Merci's birthday had already passed. Now she was -finally- sixteen. Merci's arm was a different person in itself; at least twenty bracelets crowded on her left arm. But at least they were for a good cause; the money she had payed for them went to the animal shelter of CGA.

Clark enterd the Beryl dorm and made his way to his room to take a shower, on his way there he bumped into yet another girl who seemed to be lost. "Hey." he said to her with a smile sort of looking down on her, seeing that he was almost a foot taller than her. "Are you lost?" he asked her as he looked around the hallway.
((OOC: I'm just crap at this... My posts are always so short...

[It's okay! Really. As long as you follow the three + sentences rule. ^^]
Merci believed that she was generally fearless, but having to look up -way up- to even see this guy's face made her have second thought about this belief. Instinctively she stepped back, allowing her to see his face without having to crane her neck. "Umm... Hi," she said, mentally kicking herself. Wow, that was intelligent... She hadn't been prepared for being social yet, so she took a second to gather herself.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that," she laughed. "Could you help me find my dorm room? I have room #536. If you're my roomie I'm gonna freak," she added with a hint of a joke. Merci was infamous for being flirtatious. Of course if you told her that, she would laugh in your face. She merely considered it... 'friendly'. On the inside Merci couldn't help but be curious about this stranger, but on the outside her expression remained a bit surprised.

Clark laughed slightly, "I'm not that bad." he said with a frown, "But luckily for you I'm in dorm #534, so there's no need to freak." he added with a laugh. "Follow me." he said as he walked down the hall for a while, Merci following. "Here it is." he said nodding towords the door of her dorm room, "And I'm over there." he said pointing towards his.

"Aw, I know," she giggled. Following the tall boy, she took time to take in her surroundings. The style was brilliantly designed, with colors that flowed easily. This was the first time Merci had been to a school where the halls weren't blank white with the radiating sense of being in a mental hospital. Here there were blues and greens, whites and reds, and even some rich, dark-chocolate browns. "Right across the hall. Thanks for getting me un-lost. Oh, by the way, I'm Merci." She smiled, revealing two rows of white teeth.

"I'm Clark." Clark replied with a smile, looking around at the deserted hall. "What are you doing after your unpacked?" he asked her, wondering if she'd like to hang out a bit, seeing that school hasn't officially started yet.

"Clark," Merci said to herself. "That's an interesting name," she grinned again. "Umm, well, nothing really. I'm guessing that you're already unpacked, seeing as you're not hauling a bajillion bags around." At this Merci laughed, the most natural thing in the world. She wondered whether or not she should invite him in, or if he had things to do. She hesitated for a minute. "Umm... Would you like to come inside?"

Clark smiled at her invitation, "Sure, let me help you with those bajillion bags." he awnserd with a laugh and picked up most of her bags. "Having an interesting name is a good thing right?" he asked smiling as he waited for her to unlock the door.

"Thank you so much," she said sincerely, digging in her pocket for her key. She found it and fitted it into the lock, turning the doorknob. "Here goes nothing," she murmured, pushing the door. "Ooh!" Merci was delighted. The room was very nice, with light blue walls, gray carpet, and bright light. Merci smiled. There were three beds; two bunks and one twin-sized bed. If she was lucky, maybe she would have the room to herself. Then she could buy a king-sized bed and a plasma-screen TV and another cat... Merci turned to Clark, being snapped out of her trance by his question. "Yup." She put her key back in her pocket, holding her hands out for her bags. "I think it usually makes the person more interesting."

Clark looked around Merci's room, which was much nicer than his. He handed her her bags and felt something rubs itself against his leg, he looked down and there stood Domino his cat who must've followed him here. Clark bent down, picked up Domino and rubbed him behind his ears. "Sorry, I didn't know he was following me." Clark told Merci with a laugh.
