Meg walked into the Mall that was near the school. She was wearing a light blue sleeve-less shirt, a pair of blue jeans with a rip on her right knee, and a pair of black flat sandals on her bare feet. Her brown hair was down, and she had a black baseball cap on her head too. She didn't mind wearing something that may make her look tom-boyish. If she liked anything that looked like a boy would wear, she's wear it, and she wouldn't mind it either. She wasn't a tom boy or anything, but she did still like some boy stuff. She didn't consider anything to be wrong with it or anything, and hoped that no one else did either.
For a while, Meg had only been up in her dorm room. She had no idea why she decided to stay up in the solitude of her dorm. Especially since she liked to be around people, and to talk. It seemed rather ironic of her. She may have had the company of the other Amber dorm mates, but that didn't mean that she was anywhere near them or anything. Which added to the fact that it seemed ironic of her to do such a thing. Yet, she did it anyway. It wasn't as if she was confused about anything. It was just that she felt like staying up in her room. Was there anything truely wrong with that? I think not.
Meg was carrying her bag with her as she walked. Now, she honestly wasn't looking for anything to buy. She was just causally looking at what was in the stores. However, if there were anything that she might like to buy, then she would go in the store and look at whatever it would be. It wasn't as if she was going to make herself buy something. It was just on the off chance that she might want to buy something. That was all.
Meg continued to walk through the mall, looking at the stores here and there. Her brown eyes scanned the contents of the store quickly before moving on. She sighed softly to herself as she continued through the mall.

Jaden was a normal mall rat of a teenager- every day when he had nothing to do, the mall was his home. He loved the obvious diversity that presented itself in the mall; there were all races, all types; white, black, hispanic, even some Asians, Italians, Germans, and all other originalities. Short, tall, average, fat, skinny, and then there were all of the labels. "Emos", "preps", "goths", "scenes", "jocks"... They all gathered in this place, surging into one being. A being that knew no boundaries, Jaden liked to say.
Today Jaden had returned to his home away from home. The sights and smells were amazing, as usual. Simply watching the people walking by was entertaining. There were the occassional mohawks or pajama-clad teens, and sometimes there were younger ones with the teens. But the one person that caught his eye was dressed simply. He stretched tentatively, jumping off the 3 foot wall that seperated the children from the gigantic central fountain. He walked over to the girl with a smile, catching up to her soon. "Hey there! Are you looking for someone?" Jaden's expressionate eyes were glinting with good humor as he spoke to the girl.

Meg continued to walk around the mall, gazing into the big store-front windows that lined the shops that were there. She usually spent a lot of time in the mall when she was generally bored. What seemed to be rather strange, was the fact that even though she spent a good amount of time there, she rarely ever came home with a lot of things. Make that, it was rare to see her come home with anything. She just liked the atmosphere, and being around other people. But, from time to time, she did ocassionally buy something. Though, it was never an absurd amount of things.
Meg continued to walk, playing around with a lock of her brown hair. It was sort of a habit that she got herself in. She mostly did it when she was bored, but ocassionally when she was nervous too. Her brown eyes continued to peer around the mall as she walked. Soon, a boy walked over to her, and she smiled back to him. "Hey. No, I'm not," she replied to him, "Are you?" she asked him. She held a hand out to the boy. "I'm Megan Hernandez, and you are?" she asked him.

Jaden grinned. "Nope. Well, I wasn't. But maybe it would be all right with you if I just kinda, you know, hung out with you?" Jaden laughed at himself- he sounded like such a loser. But of course, he was a teenage boy. He couldn't help all of his weaknesses. Like a pretty girl wandering through the mall by herself. "I'm Jaden Tann. Pleased to meet you, madam." He acted as though he was some British gentleman meeting the Queen. He snuck a kiss to the top of Megan's hand, laughing whole-heartedly at his play. He let go of her hand, and Jaden's eyes slipped to the floor as he thought, waiting almost eagerly for the girl's next words. It was true- he hadn't been very social recently. Today he felt like it was almost unbearable- what was a teenager without being social? So he had come to the perfect place, and simply waited out the opportunity to meet another individual. And here she was.

Meg looked over at the boy. She wasn't smiling, nor was she frowning or anything. Her face was just unemotional at the moment. Why? Well, it wasn't exactly everyday that you were approched by an extremely friendly stranger which you never met before. Hence the word stranger. She smiled lightly as she saw his grin. She didn't want the boy to get the wrong impression of her or anything like that. Or atleast, she would try to make sure that he didn't.
Meg continued to smile as she replied to him, "It's perfectly fine with me." A soft giggle escaped her lips as he laughed at himself. She didn't think that he was acting like a loser or anything. But, she did laugh. Not at him or anything, and she hoped that it didn't seem as if she was laughing at him. However, this giggling didn't stop as he kissed the top of her hand. "It's nice to meet you too, sir," she responded back to him.

He decided that her laughter was kind-hearted and grinned, bowing. "Why thank you, madam Hernandez. It is an honor." Dark brown eyes searched the surrounding shops, and soon Jaden knew exactly where he was. "Hey, are you interested in grabbing a bite? I've been sitting on that wall all day, hoping for some fries." The innocent puppy-dog look he usually had was present now, almost childishly masking the surge of pain he felt when he shifted feet. He had been ignoring his leg all day, but it still hurt like heck and he was beginning to think it needed some attention. But he could stick it out until the end of the day- not like it was broken, right? Jaden thought of his Rottweiler for a moment. He had gone through a lot, just like Jaden had; he had gone through a lot with Jaden. With a silent sigh, the teenager returned his attention to Megan.

Meg smiled to him, her giggling still piercing the air as he bowed to her. "You're very welcome, Sir Tann," she responded back to him. She didn't mind the way that they were talking or anything. She knew that she didn't use her manners that much as she was right now, but also, that didn't mean that she had no idea how to use them. She knew how to use them, just that she didn't use them, or if she did, then it was very rarely.
Meg's brown eyes scanned the area that they were at, which they have been in ever since Jaden came up to her to talk. Of course, she didn't mind, since she actually had really nothing to do anyway. So, talking and hanging around with him was a good thing for her. She smiled lightly to his question, and nodded. "Sure, I'm interested. Were you thinking of anywhere?" she asked him. As she replied to him, she had a sweet smile on her face as she noticed the puppy-dog face that he was displaying.

"Cool," Jaden said brightly. The smile he had on his face now could light up a room. "I heard that VFG had good food," he replied after scanning the mall. "Shall we skip?" The question was followed by a slight laugh, which Jaden was obviously trying to hold back. He skipped to the Very Friendly Goodies store, also known to a select few as Vegetarian Food Galore. Of course, this nickname was only used by those who worked in the store and knew what the 'meat' was actually made of. And Jaden. But he figured it was about time to spread this knowledge to Megan- maybe after they ate. Not like the veggie-meat tasted any different.
The store was symmetrically built, with four rows of shelved food and candy on one side, and four rows of tables on the other. In the far back, centered between the tables and shelves, was a service counter. Behind that was a large closet-sized area for the workers to make the food and keep the money. Today Mike was working the register, boredly flipping pages in a magazine. "DING-DONG!" Jaden yelled out loudly. The result was that Mike jumped, managing to drop the magazine, an issue of National Geographic, and let out a yelp in surprise. Jaden laughed, enjoying the sheer look of panic on the other boy's face. "Megan, this is Mike. Mike, Megan."

Meg looked over at Jaden, and nodded to his answer. "Yeah, she replied back to him. She smiled lightly back to him, and looked around once more at their surroundings before she heard him suggest a place. She shrugged lightly to his suggestion. "All right, that's fine by me," she responded to him. She honestly didn't really care where he suggested that they go to. As long as they went some place was just fine with her. But, that was obviously just her. She looked over at him, and giggled lightly at his second question. "Um, sure, if you want," she responded with giggles. She skipped with him to the Very Friendly Goodies Store. She wasn't the type who would care if she was seen skipping or not, but just found the whole thing to be kind of wierd. She honestly didn't mind it though.
Meg went into the place with him, and she looked around the store. She noticed the way that everything was arranged in the store. She knew that she had never actually came into this store, and shrugged softly to herself. She stiffled her giggles as Jaden yelled out to the cashier, who was reading a magazine. "Hello Mike, nice to meet you," she replied to him in a friendly way.

Jaden laughed heartily as Mike's face slowly reddened and then faded to his natural pale color. "Umm... hi," the tall, gangly teen greeted. "Nice to meet you, too." He scrambled to pick up the almost-forgotten magazine before setting it on the counter and turning to Megan. He awkwardly held it his hand, obviously awaiting a handshake. Jaden smiled mischieviously and slowly melted away into the shelf part of the store, allowing the two to get to know one another. It was a part of his evil plan to rule the world- purposely lead individuals to meet others who they normally would shun or overlook. His image of the world was one where people could get along.
He scanned the medium-height shelves, eyes reflecting the bright, hypnotizing swirls of candy apple red and eye-catching yellow. He tapped his black-sharpie fingernails on the top of the nearest shelf, contemplating his day. He had met this wonderful new girl, full of giggles and fun, and still he felt like that wasn't all that was supposed to happen. He shrugged mentally, walking slowly through the rows of candy, chips, dried fruit, and canned non-perishables. He hummed softly to himself, keeping one ear out for the two people standing at the counter.
