Meg looked between the rooms with a sigh, trying to think on what was the best thing to do. The only sound in the entire room at the moment was the clock ticking quietly. Even with this, you could hear a pin drop pratically.
Meg had figured that atleast someone was going to come in and show them their rooms. She hadn't read anywhere that they had to choose their rooms or anything. As far as she knew, Dawn and her were the only ones in the building. It was kind of odd to her, but she guessed that she'd just have to deal with it at the moment. After all, maybe a staff member might come at any moment, just waiting a while longer. Though she doubted it, it helped to actually think that.
Meg looked over at Dawn as she had picked a door. It wasn't as if she wanted to get Dawn in trouble or anything. Besides, that would've been stupid anyway for she was following her. She just truely had no idea. She nodded lightly to Dawn, and walked in after her, pushing the door open more with her foot.
Meg noted Dawn's uneasiness after her statement, but she smiled friendly anyway. "Yeah, that'd be great," she told her. She knew that Dawn was probably still questioning whether or not that she wanted to be friends. Truely, Meg wanted to be Dawn's friend, which was true ever since she had actually met her which wasn't that long ago.
After the two girls walked through the door, Meg looked around. There were doors on the sides with numbers on them, which she assumed to be the dorms. There were three on each side on the hallway, totalling in 6 apparent rooms there. She noticed a bit further down that there seemed to be more. She looked over at Dawn. "I'll go check it out," she told her.
Meg placed her suitcases down on the ground near where they entered. She then walked down the hallway to the opening that they were unable to see into. Once she got there, she waved to Dawn so she could come over and have a look. she looked into the room, seeing it almost like the room that they were in before. It was a bit smaller with a couch and arm chairs. There were several tables about too. The room had also led to a kitchen and a laundry room. She also noticed that it also led to another hallway with assumingly more dorm rooms, with a door at the end. She had also saw one of these doors right at the opening from the north door, which she assumed to be staircases. There were also bathrooms on both ends.
As Meg took all of this in, her brown eyes went wide, surprised by the way that the dorms were. "wow," she stated as she looked at the place. She looked over at Dawn after a couple of moments. "I'm guessing that we have to choose rooms now," she stated as she started to walk back to where she left her suitcases.

(( OoC: Heh, I was completely blanking out when I posted the last reply, so yeah, I'm glad you were the one to come up with the description. So thanks! ^^; And it's just fine, by the way ))
BiC: 1, 2, 3, 4... The numbers were so simple! Dawn was relieved. She didn't want to have to memorize some random, three-digit sequence that would be much too easy to forget or confuse with other dorm numbers she had had in the past. How many times had she walked into the wrong room, confusing the last number for her own? That was not something she wanted repeated here.
Without saying a word, Dawn walked down the hall until she came to room number three. Three was a magic number, the female had heard, and her lucky number at that. She knocked loudly, not expecting a response. But just in case someone was inside, she didn't want to walk in on them. After a minute, she turned the bronze knob and went in.
Right away, she went over and opened up both the small windows. The straw-headed girl was glad to have these. Looking up at the sky's blue brought peace to Dawn's heart whenever she needed it, even when she couldn't go outside. Plus, the domain was already a little stuffy, and all the moving around un-packing would cause body heat, which would no doubt fling itself from Dawn and warm the air. It would get hot and sticky in no time. Gross.
Not that she had that much to un-pack. Just her single bag, filled to the brim with a couple outfits and some of Dawn's favorite books. Her father reassured her that this dorm would have everything she needed, and anything else could be purchased on his Master Card, which the teen had placed inside her skirt pocket. Dawn had made sure she wore the olive, cargo skirt just for that function.
Plus it didn't clash that badly with her pale gold, long-sleeve t-shirt. It was probably Dawn's favorite shirt because her auntie had picked it out for her. On the front center was a giant, golden sun without any eyes but still, a huge smile. Dawn smiled whenever she saw it.
Reaching her hand in her pocket to make sure the credit card was still safe, the blonde's fingers closed around something else. Puzzled, Dawn without the object to find it was a folded piece of paper. Curious but frowning, she unfolded it to find her schedule. That reminded her that she had never asked Megan which classes she had taken, or found out if they had any together.
Megan! She had completely forgotten her and left her standing in the hallway. Luckily, Dawn had only eaten up about a minute, just time enough to unlock the two glass portals and remove paper from her pocket. The dark blonde hurried out in the hall and said,
"Sorry! I almost forgot; have you gotten your schedule yet?"

Meg had been standing there in awe, looking around the area that they were in. However, unknown to her, Dawn was already going into a room. She hadn't even noticed that Dawn had went into a room, despite Dawn's loud knock that she gave the door before entering the dorm room. When she finally turned back around, she didn't notice Dawn there. She looked around confusedly, wondering where Dawn went. She didn't call out her soon-to-be-friend's name because she noticed the room to dorm number three opened, and thought that Dawn was in there.
Meg peered into the dorm, and noticed Dawn standing there. She was concerned about her standing there, but she said nothing, allowing Dawn to be in her thoughts. Without saying a word, she picked up her own suitcases and walked to dorm number 2 which was right next to Dawn's. She grabbed hold of the brass door knob, and opened up the door. She walked inside, and smiled lightly. Although it probably wasn't the best of the best rooms ever, it would do for the school year.
Meg placed her suitcases down by the foot of her bed, and looked down at her sandaled feet for a moment. She looked back up, and heard Dawn walking back to the hallway. She quickly walked back out of the dorm room, and into the hallway. She looked over at Dawn, and smiled lightly to her as she came back out and apologized for leaving her out there as she went into her own dorm. "It's all right," she replied with a smiled.
Meg heard Dawn's question, and she pulled out her own schedule, and looked down at it. "Yeah, what classes did you choose?" she asked her as she walked over to her. She held out her own schedule as she looked over at Dawn's. "I'm taking Art and Music," she told her with a short nod.
((ooc: so sorry for the shortness. I'm brain dead.))

Not content with just the electives, Dawn moved closer to the brunette to get a better view at their papers, now side-by-side and touching. With a start, Dawn realized that she and Megan were touching as well. Feeling was definitely the blonde's least favorite of the five senses. However, she did not shift her weight onto her leg leg casually, or make any other move to back away.
Her aunt had once told her that no matter when they happen, all first times are hard. She had told Dawn she could be five or fifty when she got in her first fist-fight; it would be just as unfamiliar and difficult regardless of her age. The dark blonde didn't plan on getting into any fist-fights ever, but had taken the street-smart red head's advice anyhow.
So the dame stayed put. Looking the list over, Dawn realized that the only class they shared was her least favorite: Phy. Ed. Though thankfully, it was their last class. The blonde wouldn't have to worry about showing in front of the other girls as to not stink during all her other periods. Now, she would have time to get home and take one in the privacy of her own dorm. The relief was immense.
Plus Megan would be there, that'd be a good thing. The dark heavy storm cloud was showing a bit of silver around the edges after all.
"We've got Gym together," the fatale said out loud, making sure the other knew.
"Which is probably the worst class ever, but I'm glad I have it with you."
And for the first time that day, Dawn truly smiled. Not strained, not an act, not faking enjoyment to ease silence, but the result of truly being happy.

Meg moved over too so that they could both get a better view of each others papers. She was fully aware that they were touching, but made no attempt to move away. No, she wasn't a homosexual or anything like that. She just made no attempt to move, and no attempt on really doing anything. The last thing that she needed was to get into a fight or anything with Dawn, which she considered a friend too, over something as stupid as touching. She hoped that the other girl didn't mind it too.
Being in fights before, Meg did know what to do. Even though, most times she was engrossed in anger by that point. The fights that she had gotten into were in American schools after she moved from Spain. She tried to quiet down, and tried not to allow her temper to get the best of her. She wanted to make sure nothing like that happened here. Hell no. She couldn't live that down again. It wasn't as if she had lost the fights or anything, it was just that she couldn't live it down with her family again.
Meg noticed that they shared Phys. Ed. She didn't mind that they did or anything, for she was rather good at some of the sports. Others, she wasn't as good at. But, that didn't matter to her anyway. Atleast she tried, right? That was all that truely mattered, right? Besides, she'd have Dawn there, atleast one girl that she actually knew of that would be in the same class as her, even though it was only one. That made her happy.
Meg nodded at the statement. "Yeah, we do, at the end of the day on top of that," she added to her. She looked over at her, and smiled lightly. "I'm glad that we have it together too," she replied to her. She smiled back to Dawn's smile, finally able to see that the other girl wasn't straining it or anything.

When Meg also noticed that Gym was at the end of the day, Dawn smiled even harder. Great minds did think alike, after all. The blonde could tell that in the future, the two would be able to get along just fine.
Whether they were able to or not would be up to their circumstances. Hadn't this exact situation happened once before? Sure, different place, different person. But same Dawn and same foolish hope. The female shook her head, causing her dull gold locks to extend from where they usually hung limply next to her face.
"You know what?" Dawn said as she turned away from the brown haired fae. After a standing a moment in her doorway, the blonde softly shut the portal.
"I think this calls for a celebration. There's got to be a burger joint around here that has ice cream. Help me find it and it'll be my treat," and she turned ever so slightly to look at Megan from the corner of her eyes, which for a moment held a bright emerald spark.

Meg smiled back to Dawn, for they were both glad that they were able to share a class. Even though it was the last class of the day, and only one class for that matter. But, that didn't really matter. Atleast they were in one class together. Perhaps the two of them could walk back to their dorm together or something? After all, they were in the same dorm.
Meg had considered Dawn a friend by now. Whether or not Dawn wanted to be friends with her was an entirely different story. She wanted to be friends with Dawn, but didn't know if Dawn considered them as friends or not. If they were truely going to be friends, was going to be something different. They would obviously have to work with that. But, if they considered themselves friends already, well, atleast it was one step up the ladder of friendship.
Meg shut the door to her own room that she picked. "What?" she asked the other girl as she looked back at her. She smiled lightly, and then giggled lightly. "All right sure. How are we going to get there?" she asked. After a few more moments, she smiled again, and then looked over at Dawn. "Maybe we could go to the mall afterwards or something?" she asked.

After Megan suggested the mall, two things went through Dawn's mind. The first was happiness, as she had earlier been pondering how to force the trendy brunette to take her shopping for a new look. The second was whether or not she had just been insulted. Did she really clash that badly? Dawn looked down at herself, holding out her skirt at the sides to get the olive color in her mind while she looked at her plain gray, mud-splash tennis shoes and pale gold shirt.
Choosing to be positive, the dark blonde continued to inch further onto the limb she was currently upon. If it snapped now, she'd be too far from the trunk to grab on for safety un-harmed.
"What? You know you're jealous," she smiled as she began to turn with her arms linked above her head; making her skirt fluff out until it was the tutu of a prancing ballerina. Of course, now Megan was going to think she was insane. But to the blonde, it would've been worse to come off as up-tight and not able to take a joke. Insane people were happy, at least.
"I would love to go to the mall. As for transportation, since I don't know where it even is we can't bus or cab. But walking is good for you," and Dawn began to retrace the earlier steps to make her way back outside.
Then she spun around on her heel and added, "Plus we need to get into shape for Phys. Ed." And she rotated 180 degrees and walked out.
(( OoC: I'm going to go start a thread at the Burnt Burger. If you'd like, post your reaction here or there or whatever feels like it'll work best ))

Meg noticed the way that Dawn seemed to be acting, and her smile had been retracted from her face. "I'm sorry if I offended you by that. I didn't mean to honest," she told her, looking rather worried to her friend. She didn't want her to think that she offended her or anything, so she wanted to tell her that she didn't mean to. After all, she wasn't rude like that or anything. A small frown was on her face, as she noticed Dawn just looking down at her clothes. She wasn't one to insult anyone, unless provoked.
Meg looked up and noticed the other's smile, and reply. A smile came upon her face as she noticed this. "Oh yes, I'm very jealous," she responded to her. She giggled lightly as she was seeming to be acting as if she was a ballerina or a model, or something of that sort. She didn't think of the girl as insane, and plus, she didn't want to say anything wrong anyway. She thought that she said something bad not too long ago, so she believed it would be best to not tread on the wrong subjects.
Meg looked over at Dawn, and nodded lightly. "Oh, that's good. Walking is fine with me either way," she responded to her with a light smile. Truely, she didn't care if she had to walk. "True," she responded and walked with her friend out.
((ooc: All right, I just did it here.))
