With her backpack slung over her shoulder, Dylan stumbled into her dorm. She clutched on the doorway for support and thought, Wow, this is heavy!. Her black Jansport was buldging with everything from clothes to books. It had been her travel bag from her trip to Europe the previous year and was now old and rag-like. In a quick movent the zipper of the backpack broke and it went tumbling to the ground. Dylan groaned and bent down to gather her stuff, "Great," she said to herself outloud.

Adelaide slowly and silently entered the dorm building. She felt the cool air on her skin. Almost like a pro, she found the correct hall. This was because she had already gone on that terrible voyage where you stuggled to find the right room. Her pet snake, Sylvester had already been brought into her room. On her back she carried a navy blue and faux-leather Eastsport back pack. It used to be her book bag in school, but now it carried a couple of small canvases, paints, paint brushes, pencils, erasers, markers, colored pencils, rulers, paper, etc. Her larger canvases along with her luggage, were still outside. She spun a key on her index finger as she walked down the hall with a confident swagger. (That sentence was just about retarded.) On her way to her room, she noticed a door that hadn't been opened the last time she was there. She glanced in for a second and noticed another girl there. Her broken bag and all of its contents was spread out on the floor. Quickly but carefully AJ set her back pack down by the door. She bent down next to the girl and began picking up a few things. "Do you need help?" she asked, holding her belongings out to the girl.

"Thanks so much!" Dylan said, taking the contents from the girls hands and stuffing them into the backpack along with a few pencil. She got up off the floor and looked at the girl with curious eyes. For a few moments she admired her and then took a look across the room, she had brought up her pet snakes, Flame and (forgot the name, better go check, lol!) earlier so luckily they didn't come crashing down with her. bringing her grey blue eyes back to the girl, dylan stuck out her hand and with a confident tone said, "I'm Dylan."

Adelaide looked around the room just like the other girl had. It was only because she was nosy. She noticed the snakes. As her eyes studied them, she smiled a little. Then, the new girl began to speak. This brought AJ back to Earth.
'I'm Dylan.'
AJ returned the handshake and said, "Hello. Nice to meet you. My name is Adelaide, but most people just call be AJ, or Ace, sometimes."
She couldn't help but look back to the snakes. It was so cool that she had met someone at her new school already, but someone that also had snakes? That was amazing and all most to good to be true. "You have snakes, too?" she asked in amazement. "I have one. He's a little garter. I call him Sylvester," she went on.
ooc: And your snakes are Flame and Aspen. I checked for you. ^^

Dylan was surprised to have found that her roommate also owned a snake. "Cool!," she started, her old snake, a small green garter called Jadis, had died just a few months earlier but she had always loved that species, "The green ball python over there is Aspen and the cornsnake is called Flame. Where is Sylvester?" she asked, noticing her pets were the only one's in the room. "Do you have any other pets?"
